Grafton Lakes State Park is located in Grafton, New York, situated on the forested mountain ridge between the Taconic and Hudson Valleys. The 2,357 acre park offers a beach, a boat launch and boat rentals, a bridle path, hunting, fishing and ice fishing, ice skating, hiking and biking, picnic tables and pavilions, a nature trail, a playground, recreation programs, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, and a food concession.
Grafton Lakes has five ponds that provide visitors with many fishing opportunities. Anglers can go after rainbow and brown trout in Long, Second and Shaver Pond. Pickerel, perch, and bass are abundant in all ponds including Mill Pond and walleye are found at the Martin-Durham Reservoir. All ponds have launch facilities for canoes, sailboats and rowboats. Visitors also picnic, walk the nature trails, and hike, bike or ride horses along the 25 miles of park trails. Long Pond has a large, sandy beach, which is a popular summer attraction. In winter, the trails are groomed for cross-country skiers and snowmobiles, and visitors may also snowshoe or ice skate. Grafton Lakes allows electric boats.
