Fahnestock Winter Park is located within the 16,000 acre Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park, only 1.5 hours north of New York City. Located at an elevation of 1,100 feet, the Park is able to capture additional snow during storms. The good snow base provides visitors with a perfect location to cross country ski, go sledding down the sledding hill, and snowshoe. There are 15 kilometers of groomed, tracked, and mapped trails for beginners as well as experienced skiers.
Sledding tubes, snowshoes, skis (both classic and skate), boots, and poles are available for rental on a first come, first served basis. Lessons for beginners to review equipment, basic motions and skills are available by reservation. Visitors may also use their own equipment. The Acorn Cafe provides a warm and welcoming retreat for all outdoor enthusiasts. Light lunches, beverages, and snacks are available for purchase. The cozy lodge also houses restrooms and changing rooms. Seasons/Operating Hours: Weather and conditions permitting, park is open late December through March from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, and 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM on weekends. Before traveling, please call ahead to check on conditions and operating schedules. Restrictions: Dogs are not permitted on groomed ski or snowshoe trails.
