Battle Island State Park is located on the Oswego River in Oswego County, New York. The park is a popular destination for cross-country skiing enthusiasts in the winter months. The park is also the location of a popular golf course located near Fulton that lies adjacent to the Oswego River and offers golfers magnificent views from a number of its fairways and greens. The 18-hole course offers a challenging round for amateur players. The signature hole is the 5th, a par 4 - 407 yards from blue tees. The park also offers a banquet area, clubhouse, lessons, locker rooms, lounge, practice green, pro shop, restaurant, showers and snack bar.
Battle Island State Park is named for a battle that occurred on a nearby island in the mid 18th century. The state of New York acquired the majority of the land in 1916 from F.A. Emerick. In 1938 the parcel became a state park when the remaining land was turned over.
