Location Overview

Location. Known as the "Queen of Nob Hill" and personifying the romantic appeal of the City by the Bay, The Fairmont San Francisco is positioned one half mile from the Financial District and Union Square's famed shops and irrepressible nightlife. This property stands at the only intersection where each of the cable car lines meet, and provides complimentary morning Town Car service to the Financial District.
Hotel Features. Laurel Court boasts rare wines and French influenced cuisine, including Striped Bass in Spiny Lobster Broth and Herb Crusted Niman Ranch Lamb. Tonga Room and Hurricane Bar offer Pacific Rim cuisine, tropical drinks, happy hours with full appetizer buffets and live bands performing on the pool's floating island. Conference rooms and a business center with computers and wireless Internet access are on the property. Shops ranging from a jade gallery to a cigar store with pre embargo Cuban cigars are also located within the hotel. The hotel's chief concierge, Tom Wolfe, is founder of the prestigious Les Clefs d'Or concierge association in the United States. Discounted access is available to the property's health club and fitness center which hosts a sauna, steam rooms, cardiovascular equipment and aerobics and yoga classes. Spa treatments include the Smoothing Body Polish, Swedish massage and Shiatsu.

Guestrooms. The 571 guestrooms at the The Fairmont San Francisco are housed in the seven story main building and an attached 24 story tower. Fairmont rooms contain windows that open onto an inner rooftop courtyard. All accommodations include mahogany or ebonized wood furnishings, two poster beds and Asian antique reproductions. High ceilings house pale saffron walls and walk in closets. Rose marble bathrooms are complete with bathrobes. Bedding features triple sheeting, down pillows and extra long mattresses. High speed Internet access is available for a fee.

Expert Tip. Known for its gilded ceilings and famous fatade with supporting Corinthian marble columns, the hotel housed the former Venetian Room where Tony Bennett first crooned, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco."
